Matters and other things.
Jan. 12th, 2011 10:38 pmSo, I haven't done the meme in two days for one simple reason: audioboo is being a bit ridiculous for me at the moment. I don't know what the problem is, but I can't get the codes and stuff properly. I shall look at it tomorrow and decide what to do then (I may have to link it).
Also, a prompt caught my eye over at blindfold_spn, which up until now, I have only read, and not participated. IF I finish (because I've started writing it), it will mean that it will be the first time I've written for a community meme, the first time I write J2, and the first time I write porn. That last part is the part I'm most dubious about. I just don't think I can do it right, or at least, not sound totally ridiculous. I'm freaking myself out about it.
In other news, you may have heard about the Australia floods. Without meaning to sound cruel, I'm sick of hearing about them. I find news programs (at least in Aus) painful to watch with all the over-sincerity they put in their reports- to the point where it just looks fake. The reports are over-dramatised and at times, comic (even the flood reports). While my heart goes out to the flood victims and to the families of those who lost people, I have to stop watching the news or I'm going to start not caring at all. The same thing happened with the Victoria fires, Heath Ledger's death (and I loved Heath Ledger) and the Boxing day Tsunami. News programs (with the exception of two stations that keep it strictly professional and don't attempt to run the 'we care for all things' angle) eventually make me not care about terrible things.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm nowhere near the floods. Plus I live in the mountain ranges, so even if the floods were to come down as far as Sydney, I'm two hours away from them and up a very very big hill.
I hope the waters recede soon, it's too awful to think about how many lives have been lost already.
