fanficrants. Apparently a website has cropped up that is trawling through LJ, looking for anything tagged fanfic, and then reposting it WITHOUT PERMISSION.

The link diverts you from the original. It takes you to a separate page that will not show up on search engines, in order to defeat the thief's purpose of attracting search engines. (The site is full of advertising.) But as you can see, a lot of people have been complaining.
I don't know if any of my friends may have been victimized, but there's a Complaint Page, which you can go to and make him take your stuff down.
I don't have time right now to see if he's lifted any of my stories, but I will be checking as soon as I can.
(And I'm using my fanfic tag so if he steals this entry he won't be getting any real fanfic, LOL!)

secretlytodream has done it again and made the most fantastic SPN video. Seriously, it's haunting and beautiful and perfectly cut together, contrasted beautifully with an almost monotonous spoken poem (2 poems actually).
It reminds you that beneath all the pain and despair and hurt, there's a heart and strength and love to the Winchesters that defies everything that is thrown at them.

[meta]: A new God: but an old story.

( So let me preface this by saying I'm a loser who meant to write this ages ago and forgot to. )
I had been meaning, for a very long while, to do some kind of meta on Dean, ever since 4.16 came around. But I never quite knew how to go about it, mostly because Dean and his fucked up feelings have been discussed so often in the past. And then I had a (rather fantastic) discussion with no_ones_sleep about Dean (with a side of Sam) in the comments of my 6.16 post and realised it was everything I'd wanted to say. So I'm reposting it here (edited, of course, because there was a lot of other talk that went on as well- AND I had a sticky keyboard that day and there were a lot of embarrassing typos made).
So! All italicised indented parts areno_ones_sleep 's comments.

Mar. 9th, 2011 12:55 amis my favourite Agatha Christie book ever. It's psychological thriller themes and closed-off setting are timeless, providing the basis for all kinds of other media- P.D James' The Skull Beneath the Skin (which I didn't like, at all), Mindhunters, Harper's Island etc etc. It's more than the idea that you know the killer, it's the idea that it could be you, that underneath the exterior of human there's something dark and dangerous and twisted.

Tomorrow I'm recording nine and ten, and probably eleven and twelve, since up till now I've been recording them a few days in advance so that I'm not influenced by others responses. Anyway!

Summary: Lucifer has risen, along with the horsemen. But a year and a half later, the final battle still hasn’t come to fruition and the demons have disappeared completely. Sam and Dean are leading a compound and not talking about the abilities they both possess, but when Castiel goes missing, it’s time for them to get back on the road, back to their life and back into the war.

A/N: A whole hell of a lot of months ago,
paxlux asked for fic based on a picture. So I wrote it. Title from Red Right Hand by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.Summary: Nobody’s sure how it started, can’t quite recall whether or not there was a man with a glint in his eye and a gas can in his hands, but it’s not long after that the motel closes down, the owner packs his bags and moves away, and this stretch of highway is avoided. Even less time after that the local council approves the development of a bypass, and now you only drive down that stretch of old highway if you haven’t heard the stories. So listen up.

Chalk dust kisses the wood and blankets her fingers, pale pink, blue, yellow and white. It’s wedged under her nails and she doesn’t think it’ll ever come out. Across the road, the house come alive, breathes light and bright and a boy waves at her from the passenger door of a big black car.

This story was written ages ago for the
apocabigbang and has been sitting in my "need to read" folder for just as long. I finally got around to it tonight and all I can say is WOW.Beautiful and somewhat grotesque (it is the apocalypse) and vivid, the reveals are all just astounding and it's incredible how
tabaqui weaved the season 4 (and 5) mytharcs into this new world. It feels so real, so natural, like this is exactly how it should happen from here on out and the events unfold so fluidly it feels like the reading time just passes you by. It's mostly gen, for those that do not read slash, but there is a bed sharing moment and later a small kiss moment between Sam and Dean that is more brotherly than anything else. Comes to Dust - Tabaqui.
